Latest pictures. I've got lots more if there is any detail you want to see, just ask. Front left turbo bracket, stud on valve cover broke, and the rear didn't have a nut on it. Found this fuzzy stuff under the turbos. Factory insulation or part of a rats nest? Found this washer on the floor after disassembly, but I don't remember seeing it anywhere, any idea where it came from? Just a view under the valve cover. All is pretty clean for 220k. No sludge or grime and no visible wear on any rockers, valves or anything that I can see. Bottom of the head on the passenger side. It's visible at the exhaust side of the center cylinders (upper section in pic). No visible damage, cracks, or other issues. We'll see if the machine shop finds any issues, but they say they have never seen a 6.4 head that wasn't cracked. Small portion starting to leak on the front cylinder on the drivers side, otherwise the center two are the same as the passenger side. Passenger side pistons are pretty clean and good injector patterns everywhere. This is the spot that was leaking on the block surface. Should be simple to clean it up. Just a small carbon lip at the top of each cylinder wall, everything else looks great. I haven't fully inspected it yet though, since it was late when I got the heads stripped and ready for machining. This kinda puzzled me. Driver side, second piston from the front, why is the bottom of the piston so clean and no carbon is stuck to it at all. Also, the coating on the surface of the piston looks to be flaking off? I'm not sure what to think of that. Otherwise, same visible signs of the gasket leaking on the center two cylinders.
