Weak cooled seats?

Had a weird question and wanted to know if anyone has input.

I have a 2012 250 with the heated/cooled seats, and the cooling on the seats seems really weak.

I have a buddy with a 2014 and my father has a 2013 f150 with the heated/cooled seats, and they seem to have a lot more airflow and "cooling" effects than my truck. A very noticeable difference.

I don't know a whole lot about how they work besides just circulating the air, does anyone have any ideas? Or am I just crazy?

The filter might be clogged. The filter is under the seat. You can get to it from the back. Look in the manual on how to take it out, but if I remember correctly it's like a quarter turn then it will come out.

I have the same issue on my 2012. The seat works somewhat, but the back doesn't seem to cool at all.

Yep, super simple to take out and my filter on my 14 was already clogged up on the drivers side. Changed it out and it was an improvement for sure.

I did some research and it looks like the new FS104 filters are literally just plastic pieces with holes drilled in it, no filter element. Apparently the engineers don't think the seats need filters? So save yourself some money and just remove the clogged up filter or you'll be buying a piece of plastic.

The new ones are just a plastic piece. I used to have the element one, now I got the updated one that is just plastic and my seats work much better

i think so no vendors or people with those trucks dont get in trouble by the EPA?? thats my guess, not sure. you can thank the flat billed caps and cummins d-bags blowing smoke everywhere for such strict rules now :fustrate:

No problem. it seemed silly to me but works great now

Maybe I'm over thinking this, but it seems like over time the internals of the seat could get clogged up if there is no filter.
