I know this isn't nearly like the builds guys have going on with there trucks but I figured I would what I did with an old weatherguard tool box. I got this box for free, it had no keys, a cut in the front by the cab side, but the front of the bed covers it, a couple of bolt holes facing the tail gate some scratches, and the lid seal was shot. But, the box was straight and closed del I tired just polishing the box, but it still looked like crap. So I had to strip off all the clear coat that is on weatherguard boxes then polish it. I fixed the cut in the front by putting a piece of duct tap on it since it will never been seen and will keep the water out lol. To fix the bolt holes I put in some stainless carriage bolts and cut off the excess threads in the box. I also put in weatherguard's new locks, and used a home improvement store window seal for the lid seal. So all together I have about $150 (750ish new) into a weatherguard box that looks really close to new, and seals well. This is just after I started, you can see the box is in pretty rough shape Small test strip on the lid The stripper working Close ups before After stripping After Polishing All Polished you can see the holes in the 2nd picture In the truck
