Hey members! Been scouring this forum for a while and am soon taking the plunge to a 6.7l. I currently have no knowledge of owning or maintaining a diesel other than use the green pump at the gas station haha. Could you point me to a starter thread on maintenance vs my Toyota? I've read some Benicia to doing a dpf delete but do you also need to tune to do that? I'd like to keep it stock as possible but don't want to deal with buying def fluid and such.

Give Mike (bigrpwr) at No Limit a shout and he can answer any questions about any deletes.

A lot of information in this particular thread..http://powerstrokearmy.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37652

If you stay in the 6.7 Tech section you can also find some good information as well.

If you don't need a diesel, buy a gasser. Maintaining a diesel the right way isn't cheap... now if you don't mind the added expense, or tow heavy, go for it!

Being it's your first diesel, I'd leave it stock for awhile, it's nice to be able to drop it off at a dealer if any issues arise. With a deleted truck, you're out of luck.

If buying or filling def fluid is a hassle, you'll want nothing to do with a deleted (or deleting) diesel.

The def fluid is pretty much a non issue as far as being a huge hassle. Fill it once about every 6500-7000 miles. Not a huge thing.

If you live in a area where cold weather is common. Good quality fuel with a good quality anti gell is a must!!

This is the truth, have also seen where several people running the 6.2's claiming fuel mileage close to or the same as a diesel.Good luck & wise choice going american this time hope it works out for ya.

This is the kind of info I was looking for. For some reason I thought filling def needed more attention than that.
