Just like the title says, what bellowed up pipes has everybody been having good luck with? Have the Dorman ones been holding up? I see Dieselsite has a kit for $259 and RiffRaff has a stainless kit for $419 which is a bit rich for my blood, but if it lasts, I'd consider them... Also, if any site sponsors carry bellowed up pipes please PM me as I'm ready to buy...

The dorman seem pretty well done the only issue ive heard of is the collector bolts are a hair to long and bottom out and doesnt completely seal. So if you get them just grab some shorter bolts from the hardware store

I wrote up a sticky on PSN about the dormans and the hardware issues....

The short of it, test fit the collector bolts and cut em down a bit w an angle grinder if needed.

I've had mine for 10k miles and just had em off to do an engine swap.... Still 'as new' and VERY happy w them.

I just added Dorman uppipes to the work truck from Rockauto in December and heard of the collector bolt issues. Apparently so has Dorman as the collector bolt holes were drilled through and completely threaded too. Could this maybe be a weak link now leaving less support on the bolt holes? Only time will tell, but I had not one issue bolting them in and no more exhaust ticking under full throttle.

I've put about a dozen sets of the dorman ones on. They did fix the hardware issue about a year or so ago. I usually would not even think about aftermarket on things like this, but the price is so right I had to try, and so far, had good luck.

I usually have a few sets in stock and can do $185 shipped on them.

Don't think you can touch AAP and trt30 coupon code. Free shipping too.

At the price I can get them for I may just use them for the lower half of my t4 mount build

I don't think is was a hardware issue. My set needed the holes in the babies butt tapped deeper.

Bought a set Dormans for the wife's F250'on Amazon for $165 but have yet to put them in.http://www.amazon.com/Dorman-679-005-Exhaust-Manifold-Crossover/dp/B009AA6Y1U

They look pretty good and half the price of IH that I put in mine, the IH are over priced for what you get. One thing you'll find on the web is people saying the bolt holes on the Dorman collector is not tapped deep enough but the one I bought half the hole drilled and tapped all the way through.

Thanks for the input guys. I ordered the Dorman pipes, if they look crappy I will send them back.

Next question... whats the best trick to get the old up pipe bolts/studs out of the manifolds? Drill?

I sawed the bolts, then heated the ex manifold with a torch and grabbed the head with a Vice-Grip. It was a pain as mine were rusted tight, but some heat and patience you'll get them out.

I've never had any issue with that... I just tighten those bolts n break em and they always just pull right out.

Spray the bolts with lots of lube everyday for about 3-4 days. Mine came right out with no troubles. Didn't even break 1 bolt.

Sounds good in theory... but my existing up pipe bolts are about gone. They look like tooth picks. Hopefully I can pull them out.

And, the Dorman pipes arrived today (very fast, ordered them on Sunday). They are actually a surprising quality and the welds look much better than I thought they would.
