Window Squawk

Hey all, I've got a question for you. My 04 CC front windows make the worst racket going up and down. This god awful squawking when you roll them up and down. None of my buddies Super Duties do this and we can't figure out the cause. I was told once to spray silicon lubricant all down the tracks that the glass slides on, but that didn't help. At all. Anyone have this problem or suggestions on how to make it stop?

Try taking off the door panel and spraying white lithium grease on all the moving parts .

I'll give that a shot next. Drives me insane that my truck is the only one I've ever heard do it. I'm not about to go pay the dealership to diagnose something that has got to be fairly simple.

Probably the regulator. They make all kinds of racket before they stop moving the window.

I don't think it's the regulator since both the driver and passenger sides make the exact same noises and neither one has shown any signs of being weak or struggling to go up or down. They just sound like they're binding in the tracks or something and squeaking the entire way up and down.

Just an update- fixed the problem. Took apart both front door panels and watched the mechanisms as I rolled the windows up and down. It was squawking when the sliders moved down the tracks. Tried lithium grease, didn't work. So I sprayed some John Deere chain and cable lube in the tracks and that solved the problem!
