ZF5 swap help

Hey guys. So I'm in the middle of putting a 5 speed in my truck. The E40d finally crapped out. Anyways was having trouble trying to get the new pedal assembly in. Looks like I need to remove the steering column to get in there. Am I wrong? is there an easier way I'm not seeing? Any help would be great!

There is a magic way you can turn it where it will go in without removing the column. Just keep trying and you will eventually find it. The only time I dropped my column was to remove the auto gear selector and install the key release button and that was just 4 bolts so I could drop it a few inches.
