    6.0 dies when warm

Probably a lot of opinions on the radiator. I don't have anything against the OEM radiator. Even the crimped tanks don't really bother me. That said, I spent the extra money on one from BulletProofDiesel when mine failed (all aluminum). It is somewhat expensive and the shipping is a pain. I...

    6.0 dies when warm

FYI - there are two ways to check the accuracy of your temperature sensors. 1. With a completely cold engine (ie leaving it off for 24 hours) - verify that EOT and ACT are essentially identical. 2. Remove, clean, and swap the oil and coolant sensors. They are the same part. If the temperatures...

    6.0 dies when warm

With a clean coolant system, the OEM oil coolers are fine. The problem is that yours looks like it is pretty dirty. A dirty coolant system is hard to clean up and you risk plugging up a new oil cooler if you can't get it completely clean. Most Techs recommend chemically cleaning (using...

    6.0 dies when warm

Again, your issues are almost certainly: 1. plugged oil cooler 2. high pressure oil leak or bad HPOP. When hot cranking, the IPR command is maxing out and you are not getting enough ICP pressure to start. Air test to find the issue. Plan on flushing the coolant and changing out the oil cooler.

    6.0 dies when warm

That is beginning to show the issue w/ the high pressure oil system. The IPR command at 30% with a low ICP pressure of only a couple of hundred psig is a fairly sure sign of a leak (or a bad pump). Also, the oil temp differential continues to increase as the coolant approaches its steady start...

    6.0 dies when warm

ICP doesn't look bad at a warm idle, but the engine isn't fully up to temp with the coolant at 165 *F. The interesting thing is that the oil temp is already 15 degrees higher than the coolant and the engine probably isn't all the way warmed up yet. Looks like you probably have a plugged oil...

    6.0 dies when warm

We need to see the readings when the oil is up to temperature ... if possible.

    6.0 dies when warm

The truck build date would work. That is the 9/29/03 date I was referring to. To simplify it, locate the ICP sensor. Post its location. IMO it is easy to air test from the ICP location if it is on the passenger valve cover. The problem with that is that sometimes a leaking IPR valve (if it...

    6.0 dies when warm

When we say "late 04", the production date for those began 9/29/03. Remember the early model years always begin rolling off the production line mid-year the year before. Also, the typical sign of a bad HPOP is gurgling or air sound from the oil filter housing (filter removed) when doing the...

    6.0 dies when warm

Since it is an 04, you have a swash plate type HPOP. This is the "weak" HPOP. Even the late 04's have this type of HPOP. The late 04 pumps were upgraded in capacity only, not in reliability. In 05, they went to a different HPOP which proved to be very reliable. The good news is that you...

Can you park on an decline (sloping downward) and see if it starts more reliably that way? That is a common check for HPOP issues. So is an air test and listening for air leakage in the oil filter housing.

Certainly don't disagree, but it should have been visible when the gears were pulled.

    New LPOP Now Surging

Have you pulled the regulator to see if any debris is stuck in it? If there was scarring, you should have seen it on the front cover when you pulled the LPOP gears for replacement.

    New LPOP Now Surging

Is your oil filter an OEM filter with an OEM cap? If not, you may not be depressing the oil filter housing drain valve enough to close it.

    New LPOP Now Surging

Did you change the screen and clean the sump under the oil cooler when the HPOP was changed out? What HPOP did you install? There have been cases of bad remanufactured HPOP's right out of the box. That said, hopefully it is only the IPR (but the metal shavings didn't originate in the IPR)...

The motor is fine IMO. At worst you may have an HPOP starting to go out.
