I used to know the answer to this but for the life of me cant remember...

to fit a 05+ wheel on the older trucks, what size spacer is needed to bring the wheel face out to the stock postion?

go with 2'. pushes the tires out a little more for a good look. and u dont have to cut your wheel studs so if u want to return them to factory u can easily. make sure u get hub centric spacers.

This. Anything below 2" requires you to trim the studs. I am running 1.75" up front and 2" in the rear, on the fronts I had to trim about 1/4" off the studs, no threads, just the unthreaded portion at the tip of the stud. And you need hub/wheel centric for the OEM wheels since they do not have a conical lug seat for the lug centric style.

I ran them on my 2000 2wd for about a month before the spacers. I only lost about 10% or so of steering angle before my tires rubbed the radius arms. Obviously it would be worse on a 4wd with leafs though.

These are without spacers

And a stock shot to compare to stock offset.

And now with 1.75" up front 2" rear (came across a good deal on the 1.75s, then picked up the 2" to complete it)

With my 285/55R20s they are about dead even with the fender, maybe 1/4" inch or so past. I would say they stick out about 1/2-3/4" farther than the stock setup did.

Thanks for the pics!

Mine is a 4x4 with a leveling kit, we will have to compare for sure.

i'd like to keep the tires either under the fenders or dead even with them

so maybe 1.5 or 1.75 all around?

1.5" you would have to cut a good bit of the studs, 1.75" you only have to trim the non threaded tip of the stud.

How far it sticks out will also be dependent on your choice of tires.

That last picture of mine is a bad angle, at most they might stick out 1/4" with my 285s. With the stock 275s they would probably be dead even, with a wider 305 they would stick out more.

I'll try to remember to get a better picture with the wheels pointed straight to compare where they sit in relation to the fender, maybe even put a straight edge on the tire.
