Okay so I have a 08 F250 currently with a 3 inch lift on 35s. I have a chance to trade with my buddy who has a 8 inch BDS 4 link lift with leafs in the back. He has it stretched to a 12.5 with a 2 inch lvl kit and a 2.5 inch lvl kit on the front spring and a 4 inch block in the back. I'm pretty sure he made drop brackets and everything for the rest of the front suspension. He's running 20x14s with 40x15.50s. Said he added the 2 inch and it rubbed at full lock so he added the 2.5 inch spacer so now it never rubs. He said the front axle is a little set back but not too bad and all his tires wear evenly.
So I'm just wondering if this sounds all okay with the front being pushed so much. Could I take off a spacer and just trim the wheel wells or what? I'm just wanting to make sure everything will be okay and won't fudge up my front end.

I'm sure I left something out. Feel free to ask any questions and gimme all the advice and experience you have.
Thanks guys!!

Usually we push the axle forward, it sounds like it is cobbled together.

He did it wrong anyway, this is a 12" and 46's with 12" of lift 40's should miss everything ImageUploadedByTapatalk1378823860.075362.jpg

So it has two coil spacers on it?? That just doesn't sound good man. I would run it at 8" like Randall said, or buy the right coil for the height you want. I'd be fine with one of the spacers if you absolutely have to, but with how relatively inexpensive the proper coil is I would try to do that.

Yes, its got 2 coil spacers. I thought it was a little odd but didn't question it. I thought about just doing one coil spacer and making it a 10 inch lift. I'm pretty sure the 40s should clear everything

From the sounds of it, he put a 2" bottom coil spacer and a 2.5" top coil spacer on it.

That kit was never designed to be stretched like that. You will run into numerous problems running it like that and I don't think they're is enough adjustment to get the alignment anywhere close to where it needs to be.

05+ axle is way different width a long with the much wider 14" wheel...I understand why 40s rub

That's what it sounds like to me also

Well I know that's what he did. I've seen the truck. He said the axle is pulled back because the 4 link arms are too short for that much stretch. What kinda problems will it make?

Having problems now!! I'm running 8" bds with a 3" coil spacers, this changes the steering geometry up big time, if you want to stay like that I would suggest talking to pmf about their draglink set up and psc hydraulic steering, it puts undo stress on the steering box,
I'm ditching my 3" coil and sticking with the front coils and a 1" under spring spacer, good luck, let me know what you find out

You will prematurely wear all the suspension components. Not to mention it probably rides crap.

Don't quote me on this (because I throw the directions out) but I'm pretty sure it says not to use a lift kit in conjunction with a leveling kit in the installation instructions.

I've lifted a truck or 50, I've constructed lifts out of parts and used kits/systems, never have I stacked a lift and a leveling kit. On leaf spring kits I have used drop shackles with springs but that's different. If you stack a lift and leveling kits on a coil spring truck, you will run into all kinds of geometry problems........just saying

The pitman arm and track bar drop are to short and the alignment has got to be horrible with that kit stretched another 4" . I can't imagine it steer well or doesn't have death wobble like a mofo .

I remember he had the truck with just the 8 inch with 40x15.50s on 20x12 wheels. Said sometimes it rubbed at full lock and what not. So he added the 2 inch spacer. Well it threw his axle back some and said he had drop shackles or something made to make it right. I can't remember what it was. Then he got 20x14s and put the 40x15.50s on them. Then it rubbed like before. So he put on the 2.5 inch spacer on and said now he clears everything.

He's got the BDS dual shock hoop and dual steering stabilizers if that matters any.

I'm gonna try and call pmf and pcs ttoday but I'm gonna call BDS first to see what they say about all this.

if you ran simply the 2.5" coil spacer on top of the 8" springs you would clear them just fine. if it rubs at full lock that's simple....don't turn it to full lock...there unfortunately are some sacrifices for having a big truck on big tires...you'll be much happier because I'm sure it probably rides horrible with his setup.
