Is it possible to swap a ZF-6 or ZF-5 behind a 6.7?
Anything is possible with enough money, time, and expertise

Why go backwards???
Blah...probably wouldnt hold tye power for long. Boil the.guts out of it.
The zf6 is cooled just like a automatic so don't necessarily see heat being a issue. The shafts might but autos need upgraded shafts and I'm sure there is a place that makes them for the zf6 So I don't see it not holding the power after upgraded parts. Plus it'd end up being cheaper to strengthen.
Only thing you might have a problem would be twisting the aluminum housing. Dodge guys are having the problem with the g56 tranny and they fixed it with girdles. I guess it comes down to if you have the money, the drive and the time it can be done. The thing that boggles me would make that engine run without communicating to the tcm. These trucks are so smart
I wish Charles would chime in on this.
