92 7.3 transmission

What’s the best option out there now for a transmission? 92 f-350 2wd, auto, 7.3 idi.
Gotta buddy at work looking for one.

You can convert to a Allison.

I think he mainly just wants something reliable for towing, I just wasn’t sure who was still around for the old 7.3 transmissions.

Precision transmission in Texas seems to know what they're doing.
I'm not even sure who else is still doing builds. Bts maybe, but I hear it's a long wait.

Join a local IDI or PSD facebook page and see who they're using. I ended up doing that since JW has retired. There is piece of mind that the local guy will be around for awhile to perform warranty or repairs if anything happens and is only an hour away. I get they can close anytime but I was having a hard time with the thought of spending $6k for a JW unit and not knowing his after retirement plans.

I’ve heard good about twisted but the local guys can all order the same stuff and they’re local in case of issues.
