...phasing out? It's late 2013 and people have been going black for some time now, but is the trend still on the rise?

I have, up until now, been the 'modified' stock type of owner and have yet to find what works for me on this 6.7. In the past I level it, put larger tires on the OEM wheels and go. After trying both the 18's and 20's I'm still left conflicted.

With considerations to go aftermarket for wheels, I like both the black/machined and chrome look, (BMF Rehab). I want a 'clean' relatively understated non-stand-out-ish feel.

Unless convinced otherwise my plans are to pull the leveling kit and drop 250 blocks in the back to get to the factory 250 height, 20" wheels with 325 A/T rubber, amp steps and ptm bumpers/grill surround.

I love the offroad attributes of the Trails/lift but feel the looks of the truck are conflicted. Some off road mixed with some street mixed with some clean mixed with some dirty.

Dunno, you tell me.

Here are some pics ...

I would leave it how it sits. It looks perfect in my opinion. Thats how I want mine to sit. I think if you put some aftermarket wheels on it that it will look even better at that height.

Where I live, every kid with tow mirrors and 'C' stickers throws black sh1t at their trucks like its their job.

I've got stockers on mine still, but when I do decide to get wheels, I will probably go the american force chrome route. No one around here has american force wheels.

:whs: I decided to give the black wheels a shot because I was tired of chitty chrome wheels peeling and pitting. I've had my last 2 sets of chrome wheels turn to crap in a very short time. So I ordered me a set of black fuel wheels, and low and behold they are already starting to go to crap. As aomeone mentioned earlier I'm pondering heavily on either getting a set of American Force, Weld wheels, etc. Hopefully they will last a lot better than the other wheels I've had.

When you decide to sell those fuels let me know. I'm right across the river and have been looking for a good deal on a set.

I agree with this. But, there's still a way to do black and keep it looking nice. I say if you like the black wheels then go for it. I like my black wheels mainly because they're a lot easier to take care of, and it tones down the brightness of my bright red paint some.

But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't considering ordering a set of polished Welds at some point.

You have a tricky color, chrome or polished look awesome on that grey color, but then again so does black.

I'm all for some polished wheels, even have some AF recons 20x10s I may be ready to part with

Appreciated. I have been curious in my considerations if it is just the wheels I'm not happy with.

Good to know. This truck lives a pretty easy life so hopefully they will hold up, for a bit anyways.

This was deff one of the considerations. It is tricky with the hard water I was the thing with. Whatever gets dried last, usually the wheels, ends up with some serious spots.

I fully agree. This grey can have a toned down look or a shiny attribute depending on how much black is mixed in. I am going to check out these AF's as they have been mentioned a few times.
