Picked up some Moog ball joints on CL this weekend, are they the same for D60 and D50? Didn't think about that when I was sitting in the parking lot, then found out he has a 2004 which has the D60 in it.:fustrate:

Also bought a grill from him. Should have looked at it, chrome is peeling and its cracked... FML.

Just checked my handy auto zone app. I'm assuming a d60 would be in a sd or straight axle obs d50 is independent correct? If so the uppers have the same pn but the lowers are different.
Can you color match the grill? I hate the ford chrome, ford put 3 new grills in my dads 99 when he got it none of them held up.

D60 came in most 2002 and up SD trucks, but the D50 came in 99-2001 SD.

We are not talking TTB D50.

D50 and D60 take the same ball joints in super duties don't they? I could have sworn my 2000 and my old mans ex had the same XRF and one truck had a 50 and the other a 60

I thought F-250's and excursions had D50's and the one tons had D60's.. I know for a fact that my dads ex has a smaller front axle then my truck.

99-01s all D50s except duallys. All 02 up trucks d60s. All EXs d50s.

At least this has been my experience in checking this on many, many, many, trucks.

All SD axles 99-04 use the same balljoints.

Most of the stuff on the outers of the 99-04 D50s and D60s from what I've seen are the same. Now obviously the center sections and the inner shaft are different. When I bought my Mile Marker hubs I actually had to look up the part number for the 2000 F350 with D60 because it wouldn't bring up the part when I searched for my 250.

Dynotrac makes some re-buildable units that are pretty nasty. Im getting these so I never have to buy them again. Plus, if you use really good grease, and keep them greased they will last much much longer.

I could buy a few sets of ball joints for what they cost. If your doing some crazy off roading I could see them maybe but I couldn't justify the cost.

These are what I plan to pick up when mine start to go. Spending the extra $ is worth it if I don't have to spend a weekend tearing the front end apart and going to parts stores to try to find the part(s) I want. Do it once, do it right.

XRF are supposed to be the ones to use since Moog went dirty side up.
