Crank no start after rocker arm and injector work.

I was going home one night and the engine started popping like crazy... I knew it was probably valve train..broken rocker arm. I had it towed to a local mechanic who changed 2 rocker arms...pushrod...and a injector... Truck ran good for the day but when I ran the truck the next day I started it...drove a few miles... and then parked by my shop to get some tools. Jumped in truck to go, and it wouldnt start...crank no start. I left it for half the day and it started. Next day it started... went to town and then wouldnt start again. tried for awhile and then it finally started and I parked it at home. Now it wont start at all. Mechanic wont come back to look at it.. I give up on him. I am wondering if he didnt install the injector properly?

Was just doing a little more reading about crank no starts..... one of the last thing the mechanic said to me was he was thinking it has something to do with my security system???

Anything related to security system wouldn’t allow it to crank. Need to monitor rail psi

Ok..thats what I thought. I did throw my charger on it since the truck hasnt moved in over 6 months. Batteries where stone dead. I left the charger on it for a hour and it fired right up. It started 4 more times and on the fifth it cranked no start again.

Well now im not so sure? Anytime the truck would just crank the red light with the truck and lock would flash constantly...and the horn would blow a few times after I turn the key off. Now I tried my spare key and the truck is running all day?

Weird. That sure makes it sound security related. Maybe something wrong with that one key?

Ok... that was just coincedence. It cranked no start again the next day. I noticed it was cranking lower than before... so I threw charger on it. 5 minutes and it started right up. Ok Im thinking bad batteries. Bought new ones and installed.... also cleaned up cables....Truck starts great for 2 days....probably started 30 times in those 2 days. 3rd Morning crank no start and it wont start now at all... I tried many times. I did notice check engine light on now and I plugged in my code reader...p0090 Fuel Pressure Regulator control circut open. So its either my regulator... or the wiring. Im leaning on wiring because he had to have removed that to change the rocker arms and all that right?

Sounds like the hpfp harness rubbed thru on the hpfp cover. There is a tsb for it, can’t remember the number, and it was for a different code if I remember right, but it would blow the fuse and cause a crank no start.

But My fuses are all good.... If I leave it for awhile it starts back up again.... It just does it when it feels like it.

Could still be shorting to the cover, but not blowing the fuse, or the pressure regulator on the pump is going bad, or you’ve got a wiring issue. As bad as it’s gonna sound, I’d personally be leaning toward a regulator failing, and most likely due to the pump starting to come apart.

Im thinking its a short somewhere... it all started after he replaced rocker arms and injector....and if im correct you have to remove the harness to do that>?

Was the cab removed when the mechanic worked on it? The hpfp harness would not have been touched when replacing rockers or injector.

Is the security light flashing when it cranks no start?

No he said no need to lift cab for doing that. BUt the scecurity light flashes and the horn honks two short honks and one long one right after I shut the door always.. He even mentioned security to me when I had tried to call him back to come look at it. My other 08 f450 is totally different for security...This one is always going crazy with the horn going off.

Does it have an aftermarket security system?
