This just started yesterday. the truck will slam into gear hard enough it will throw you back in the seat. it does it in any tune wether I've got the pedal matted or grandpaing it, It still does it. there's no od light flashing no slippage just shifting very hard any ideas on what could be causing this? Or do I just need to start saving for a rebuild?

And for which shift 1-2 is the worst 3-4 isn't as bad 4-od feels like driving an old gasser with a shift kit down shifting feels completly normal

Check the vss wiring. I have found where the brake cable can wear into the wiring back at the rear differential. It won't always cause speedometer issues but can cause a "glich" in the sine wave.

Exhaust back pressure tube can be clogged not giving the transmission the feedback needed for shift...
I changed out a torque converter and a couple fluid changes before I figured out mine was sooted over...

Whenever mine does I unhook batteries turn on lights to drain the power to the computers and it resets it, worth a try, my brothers was acting up in Indianapolis one day, slamming gears and every light, got home and did that, also your vss sensor

Have you verified exhaust back pressure with AE or a scan gauge... It could be a bad sensor
