Looking to add a little better ride to my 08 f250 was looking at the carli 2.0 commuter or 2.0 performance was looking for around a 2.5 inch lift but wondering if I wanna goto the 4.5 lift I use my truck as a dd put a lot of highway miles on from traveling for work, I tow on and off usually my excursion or another pick up and I like to sled pull occasionally. Anybody have any recommendations of a kit I should get? And maybe of pictures of a 4.5 inch lift I'm running 35's on stock wheels right now

I have the Carli 4.5 pinto on my 07. I upgraded to the full 08+ leaf packs. The ride is absolutely amazing!!! I can not even begin to explain the difference in the ride quality it is by far way better than I ever imagined it could be. I do not think you would go wrong with that set-up I also have the long travel airbags on it is such a soft suspension that is does drop more than normal with a load so the airbags work perfectly. I run 37's on my truck with zero clearance issues.

Either one I think you'd be happy with. Personally I'd go with the bilstein shocks over the fox's. The bilsteins are a nicer ride and towing manners IMO. Ideally the 4.5 with the kings is the best, and I love the stance it puts the trucks at with them. The ride is much better and great for DD'ing. Tow's really well as well. Personal preference is the 4.5 set up, but that's just my taste. Pintop 2.5 is a nice setup without going to full coil overs. If ya want some pricing shoot me a PM.

Thanks for the Input and pictures guys! Other thing I have to look at is towing the gooseneck I don't want the bed to be to high that I don't have much clearance for the trailer

No pics yet but I just got my Carli lift put on my '14 a few days ago (BackCountry 2.0 with full leaf), and the truck is totally transformed for daily driving. Have not towed yet, but I don't anticipate any issues as my trailer is relatively light (6000lb).

I kept with 20" wheels and didn't change much on tire diameter, so I am confident the change is the suspension and not the added sidewall that a lot of Carli guys have. Would it be even smoother with more sidewall? You bet.

I have some vagueness present now in the steering: might be not enough caster? I am working on the issue to resolve, but otherwise very happy with the new set-up.

The Ford tech that installed the Carli kit (yes I had it done at Ford my truck is still on warranty - didnt want dealer to try to weasel out of warranty work later based on who did the work) commented that he was really surprised how well the truck rode for his test drive. He had been convinced that the ride would be much worse lifted.

As for the smaller vs larger Carli lift, I guess it boils down to personal preferences and how you plan to use the truck. I was originally looking at the smaller kit but changed my mind when I decided for the full leafs. Also I thought about the lift and on a F350 the 4.5 is not that huge of a difference height-wise as stock is pretty high to begin with.

If I did it again, I would spend a bit more and get the Pintop with Kings (stainless shaft upgrade) as they are rebuildable.

Good luck with your decision.

Matt may be interested in the tire gate haven't decided yet if I will like it and want that on the truck. Why you wanting to get rid of it? Don't like it just going a different direction?

Thanks for the info man! I think I might go with the 2.5 pintop kit that way I can just get the leveling kit with the good shocks and won't hurt my gooseneck hight too much

He is ditching the bed for fiberglass sides in a custom frame. I am guessing he will build his own rack when he builds the bed frame.

I haven't hooked our gooseneck horse trailer to my 07 yet but i can tell you it is considerably higher that the 01 F250 I was using. I don't know how much higher the stock 2012-13's sit than the 01's but I am also on 37's now as well just food for thought.

I'm going 2.5" but was debating Carlo or icon. I am wondering about hitch height as well my 6.4 350 was too tall but I think with my bags I can air them up to sit level and for our hose trailers I'll air down and let it sag a little in the rear. Just keep a 2" rear block height.

I can't tell you exact height, but there were a few questions in the Carli suspension thread (on powerstroke.org) about ride heights with the Carli on in there.

There were figures pertaining to height of cab with the lift on (keep in mind your tire choice makes a difference here). If you know the difference between cab height stock vs lifted, I think you could make a pretty educated guess on where your hitch height will end up.

Sorry I forget the figures now (i was one of the ones asking and had measured my truck)

The 2.5" system shouldn't change it too much from stock height as the rear doesn't make a big change.

You'll be fine with a 4.5" lift and a gooseneck. I had that setup on my old truck with 36" tires and never had a issue. I was also running a 8" rear block so it sat higher than most and towed damn near on a daily basis.
