I know this subject has been beaten to death, but do you think it would make a difference if I did shocks with resi's in the rear of the truck. The front are getting resi's no questions....but will it make a difference in the ride if have them in the rear as well?, I plan to go with fox shocks just not sure if I should drop the money on resi's for the rear too, which you probably won't even be able to see.

I always thought resi's were only needed for hard core off roaders or just the cool factor for street trucks? I read somewhere the ride quality with the Fox 2.0 are the same with or without the resi's.

I think you could be right...I will be doing some hardcore off road driving once I have some shocks in there with my carli springs. I'm sure as heck not gonna spend 6-800 dollars for shocks and not even haul ass through some fields and feel them working. but for the most part I will be driving on the street. if it makes 0 difference in ride quality then i'll save some money and just do resi's in the front for the cool factor...

The resi is just there to help keep the shock from heating up so fast from it being beat up on for an extended period of time.

If I were you, I'd look at some of the Carli tuned shocks. I recently switched to the commuter fox shocks and I'm seriously impressed. They're great for a street driven truck like mine. Obviously if you wanted to offroad much they aren't the best choice. I can only assume the other Carli tuned shocks will be just as great though.

The regular fox shocks are good and worth every Penney, but the carli tuned shocks paired with carli coils are awesome.

Those are what I have. I know I said it before but I just want to re iterate those are for street driving. You can out drive them offroad pretty easily.

Also, Chris (Smokinstroker) is who I bought mine from. I'm pretty sure I paid that much for them.

95% of my driving with my 6.4 is on the street, the other 5% is off road on dirt roads or gravel which may have pot holes and maybe .5% is through fields so really sounds like these will be the best shock for it until the truck goes up another few inches and has 37's on it with 2' wheels

I don't think you would notice much of a difference. But I don't think I would ever get a set of shocks now that didn't have the reservoirs...They just seem to ride better in my opinion.

I just went to Bilstein 5160s on all 4 corners of my truck. (2014 f250 crew cab, long bed) and so far, I'm very happy with them. Ride on the street is slightly better than the Rancho stuff I had before, but off road, they are hugely better. I farm, and spend the majority of my day on dirt "roads", if you can even call some of them that. I went with the reservoir shocks, since I travel quite a ways in crap conditions and figured it couldn't hurt. So far, so good!

in case you or anyone else was wondering I went with the Carli commuter shocks, placed the order tuesday around 2:30 got an email with a tracking number around 4 saying they were shipped and will be here thursday around 2:15pm and the springs and shocks should be going on friday...
