So I'm tired of the olé one wheel wonder open carrier and either Guna buy a Detroit locker or try track still haven't decided. But I was wondering where those who have them have bought them? I looked Randy ring and pinion and they were 734 haven't seen the Detroit any were else. Thank you

Check summit racing. I've got a set there before.

Randy's makes the Grizzly locker, which is a new knock off Detroit style. price that one.
I have one in the 10.25 and a Detroit in the front d60

Oh, and just to add to this. You might want to consider the true trac over the detroit locker for the rear. The detroit locker can get noisy and clunk sometimes. Also it can get quite sketchy if you're on a slippery road or even on a slippery highway at a decent speed and the truck tries to kick out on you because both wheels are locked together, same as a spool pretty much. True trac is much more street friendly.

So just to make sure I have this correct try track biases % of power to wheel with most traction and locker just locks when wheel spin

locker unlocks to allow a tire to overspeed the differential. no tire can go slower then the ring gear.

a true trac is an expensive open dif :) just my opinion and if you read how they work it sounds exactly like an open dif description

What want is something that will help in both summer mud and off roading and winter snow

If you are on the throttle at all the locker is locked. It only unlocks when you are coasting.

It seems like the locker style is the way to go. Has anybody had any problems with them going bad under normal conditions

That was a good thread. I still think a no slip would be the way to go in the rear only thing is on the ice during winter is it might get sketchy if both wheels lock up on ice.

True trac here too.. never failed me in the dually. Expensive open diff? Yeah right..... I have an open diff, I have a ls, and I have a trutrac... no comparison between the trutrac and the other two.
