Trailer brake wiring!!!!!!

alright i took out an old trailer brake controller from my truck, and wired up te newer one i got and its blowing main fuse for it. i hooked it up color for color, except my truck has five wires coming up to the controller and the controller only has 4. ther is just strey brown wire now, HELP PLEASE!!!

i dont remember colors but whats the brown for?

Brown is marks.... If you wanted to bring it over to my place I could look at it for you..... I do a lot of trailer harness wiring

i dont know it wasnt hooked up befor and that prol why that light would never work lol

i know they are a pain.. 4 wires... brakes, markers,left turn-break light, right turn -break light with a ground throught the ball? is that how it was set up?

it was just the controller here red goes to black and green goes to red LOL but still blowing the #18 30A trailer battery charge fuse
