I ran the adapter flange on a 64/71/70 non vgt with stock y-pipe and it ran awesome. I believe Ivan(extendedpower) ran the exact same turbo as me at one time. Started building 2-3lbs of boost at around 1600 rpms. At WOT...45psi boost and 53-54psi ebp. Spooled fairly quick.

...that was with an open .70AR housing...and I think it was stainless steel.
I found the supplier for that housing, as I wanted to try running that housing again, with a different combination.

I thought it was a pretty good turbo don't you Ivan? My truck ran great with it for what it was.

I still think it had the best "All-Round" performance for an everyday driver under 600hp.
So, yes...I totally agree with you.:toast:

i think the plan is going to be 62FMW/68/.91 divided t4 with true divided up pipes, then an s475/96-88 with 1.10 housing. does the 62 need to be gated or only if i spray it? anyone ran the 62FMW with 175/75s as a single?

I flipped the vacuum pump bracket 180 degrees. Turned out pretty well. In hindsight, a vacuum reservoir would have been nice addition. If you're utilizing vacuum hubs frequently. Sometimes my blend door actuators would take a few seconds to extend/retract after the hubs locked.

The oil drain is really, really important. I ended up trying three different pan options. I pulled my engine 3 times until I got it right. The best option is to drill a 1/2" hole through the upper pan, behind the gasket path and weld an aluminum -12AN fitting at a small angle to the pan.

An improper drain will either have one of two consequences:
1) Leaking from the pan gasket
2) Pushing oil past the compressor/turbine seal

Hard to tell from this photo, but be sure to have a smooth downward slope from the charger drain to pan. Different engine, but same concept.

Here's what another member has done as well, but as you can see, has a small leak.
