Well a month or so back I posted up asking if o ringed heads were mandatory for me, given my mods and future mods we decided to get it done, just finished up the head gaskets 2 weekends ago and got a good test run last weekend, 68mm vgt 175/75s towing at least 15k, didn't do too bad but after using a buddys 6.4 (big mistake) a week prior to doing HGs, my truck doesn't quite do what I want it to. Im thinking some of my issues can be fixed with tuning but even then I don't think it will solve it totally. Im after a reliable 600hp that I can do whatever I want with tow, drive, etc and just like everyone else ive gone around compounds mostly as No one around me has them to remove the doubts and fears I have, and the cost, but now I think its time.

I have an II 62/70 install kit minus the turbo, after talking to shawn the plan is going to be a 62/65/70 with a S475 (96/88) will prob take shawns advice and go the 1.10AR housing however that doubles the price of the turbo over the 1.32 so I may try it with the 1.32 and if I hate it change it up. Going to stay with my 175/75 injectors for now and if I can go 190/75 or 190/100 ill bump it up.

my questions are:

LP oil return okay in the pan or is a bed plate a must?
How are you guys relocating all the vacuum stuff on the passenger side cleanly?
where does washer fluid get relocated?
maf wires get extended to passenger side?
Those of you who have built your own kit, would you do it again or cut your losses and go with CED or the likewise pre made kit?
What should I gate the HP turbo at or are these two paired well enough I don't need to gate it?
what overall boost numbers does this setup run?
Is it a reliable tow friendly setup?

Procharger is cool but it's far from a proven reliable setup, and no one is making a kit now.

I guess you can try the 175's with the tight s475 it should work okay.

As for making your own kit vs buying one, unless you are a skilled fabricator and very good at estimating exactly what you need there's very little chance you will save money over someone who knows exactly what they're doing and gets their materials at cost

I know of a guy who ran a 62 over an 82 with a set of 190/100 for a little. I couldn't tell you turbo specs tho. He said it did okay. That is a really small injector tho. ill be running a s362/s482 combo here shortly with a set of 225/75s until theres funds for some more fuel and bb turbos

The injectors are small but so is that compound setup, it won't reach the potential of the turbos, but I think it should drive okay.

To clarify that's a 62/65 .70 a/r high pressure turbo?

That the same high pressure turbo I ran as a single. I ran the Industrial Injection 62/65/70 for about 6 months back in 2009. If I were you...I'd do a t4 setup for the high pressure. Screw that adapter flange crap with the stock y-pipe. Honestly... I think the 175/75's will work just fine. The compound setup you're lookin to do isn't big....so the 175/75's will make it super clean

Yes it's a cast adapter, I'm thinking that if I went a t4 setup the turbo wouldn't be as costly, but figured I had it I may as well use it, but if it makes that big if difference I could scrap it

The worst thing anyone could do is use an "open" adaptor for the turbo.
Completely divided up pipes, right to each port of the divided turbo inlet, will work the best.
Second worst thing to do is thinking a spool flange will help the secondary spool quicker....with issues...

as far as your drain line, I have seen it done in the "bed plate" or upper pan, i ran mind into the side of the oil pan right above were the trans lines sit. I found there was very little room to get a good spot on the top of the upper pan, but a lot of guys do it.

as far as the vacuum lines, most would say extend the lines and mount it under the truck somewhere.....i pulled the vacuum canister out of my truck and looped the lines together. I wouldn't recommend it, however i haven't had any issues with it this way.

i would think about a little more fuel for the setup,

here is a couple pics of my oil pan...there is some good information n that thread also.

There was a local kid running the adapter on a 366 and it was very poor spooling.
If your looking for a set of t-4 up pipes i got a set from mpd I'm looking to sell.

I ran an open adapter with my s366 and it was the worst thing I ever did to my truck.

Quick compound question, I'm about to swap a 62/68 .83ar t3 internal gate with a 74/96 1.32ar onto my truck listed in the signature. Who would you recommend for tuning? It has a factory 5r110 and converter in it now. I'm looking for a tune than leans more towards a happy trans rather than big power until I can get a Warren trans in it.

I ran the adapter flange on a 64/71/70 non vgt with stock y-pipe and it ran awesome. I believe Ivan(extendedpower) ran the exact same turbo as me at one time. Started building 2-3lbs of boost at around 1600 rpms. At WOT...45psi boost and 53-54psi ebp. Spooled fairly quick.
