Anyone see this happen before?

My truck blew the glow plug completely out.
Gonna have to get the valve cover off and inspect/check things out.

Causes?

Yes I've seen it a few times it was the older glow plugs that did it just slap a new one in and you will be good

Yeah I was leavig a stop sign, not wide open but I got into it a little bit then it sounded like a dirtbike who's header fell off and I was like wtf.

Think it blew all the way out or is it probably somewhere in the valve cover?

They blow out of the valve cover to long to fall in the valve cover

Scratched a lot of it off but this residue build up on the outer shell of the glow plug.. Could that just be from not getting it high in temps to in a while?

Seen it happen several times. Usually on trucks that have been apart and put back together. Seems like sometimes the glow plugs get that way from stress of disassembly and assembly. Oh well. Bet it made you sh*t your pants for a second.

My buddy blew one out running from the fuzz lol. Cop said he had to turn his windshield wipers on he was blowin so much oil. Block is still getting reworked right now.

Holy ****!!! haha yeah it was the start of a nice little launch but that ended quickly
