Dt360 upgrades

I have a lead on a 92 dt360 that I may jump on. My online research has got me at ease about making power with this engine. It'll be going in a 78 4x4. I'm aware of the adapters necessary but I can not find any sites of someone that advertises upgrades for the 360. I have read people say contact hypermax but those guys are too pricey for me. I figure any reputable fuel shop can do a pump n injectors but I'm curious about things like valve springs, push rods n possibly cam and piston options. Would I need to try to contact tractor puller for their advice or are they tight lipped about that stuff? I seen a few threads on here way back about 360 swaps but did not have an interest in them till now. Thanks for any input:rockon:

He can help with the valve train items? I knew he has the adapters for the bell housing and p-pump swap but I didn't see.any other stuff on their website is why I ask.

A p-pumped compounded DTA360 is my dream swap motor (I'm a Luddite at heart). I keep checking CL every now and then to see if I can find a deal on one that I can squirrel away for a rainy day project.

Look up what kind of old trucks they were put into, dump trucks, stuff like that. That's if anyone needs or wants one. I see OP already has one.

I've been working on this project for a long time. Feel free to text me with any questions. But for the most part, all you need for below 1000 is valve springs, pushrods, fuel and air. Maybe an idler support. But the engine is very stout.

In for updates I'm dt360 swapping my truck as well. Picked up a P7100 pump talked to scheids about an adapter for it.
Any off the shelf springs for 600 ish hp. I have found some crazy high pressure ones but can't see the added stress for what I am looking to do.

I remember a guy putting one in a 08+ f450 back on PSN. Backed it with an eaton manual trans iirc. Maybe look that one up if your interested and haven't yet.

Jim, how much did you pay for it? That one looks pretty nice. I've seen some on ebay that are just sitting on the ground out in the yard and they want like 3 grand for motor and trans. Seems kind of steep to me, but they seem pretty easy to rebuild, based on my research.

This is Chris' engine, Swamprat on here. 2500, but it does need a few things. It also has the stuff I was missing. If I had only kept the Scheid 13mm p-pump, this thing would be running already.
I've bought others for 1000-1500$ though. I think 3k is kinda steep for an engine not made for 20 years. There are bus yards full of the things. If you're interested I've got a lot of contacts for them so let me know.

Keep in mind there was some changes in the Pistons in late 88. You can tell which one you have by looking at the serial number on the block. The later ones are a little more desirable for bigger power.
