It is cool I have seen it a few times. I could never own a canopy boat personally unless I was just racing.

My buddy has a canopy MTI that he's taken me beyond 150 in a few times at Lake of the Ozarks. It's quite a ride. More than what I'm looking for. . .

As for the towing question, I surely know I have to choose my stops carefully. I already do with just my car trailer at 38 feet or so. I just figured if I was missing any thing other than even tougher turning at intersections, etc. might be lurking that I hadn't thought about. . .

Thanks for the responses!

I think what would help you the most is a F350 w/ the tow boss package or a 450 to get the super 60 under the front. Since the wider front axle they have more wheel cut and can turn sharper allowing you to get further into the corner before having to make the turn. I have noticed this making the biggest difference getting around with Semi's over the years. Same wheel base trucks some turn sharper than others and it makes a big difference getting around.

^^ +1, new truck turns on a dime like a dream compared to the typical turning radius.

I have been 160 in a 43 foot cat...ya more than I can fund. I think a 10 min ride used 50 gal or something lol.

Well, I don't think a new truck is in the offing, but I do appreciate the input about turning radius. It makes a lot of sense and I'll keep that in mind if I buy another down the road. :)

Going with a Nor-Tech 3900V with fresh staggered 1000hp Mercury racing motors. On the trailer, it looks shorter than my tandem race trailer that was supposedly 36ft. I can't quite figure it out.

I'm probably going to have it shipped from Maine to Miami. I have a small place on South Beach. I close the company for two weeks over the holidays (but pay everyone of course) and I'm thinking some easy holiday runs to the Keys and maybe to Havana would be a nice way to spend those two weeks.

Then tow the boat back to CA for the spring and summer for Catalina runs and Lake Havasu.

Year after next maybe the Great Lakes. That's the beauty of a boat on a trailer. :)

Very cool, I really want to do that Catalina trip. I am heading to Havi this weekend.

IS that your boat in your avatar??? For some reason I don't think of anyone on these boards being in the Western US...Havasu should be great this weekend!

No, I own a Nordic Flame. There are tons of people in the West on here.
