Well a month or so back I posted up asking if o ringed heads were mandatory for me, given my mods and future mods we decided to get it done, just finished up the head gaskets 2 weekends ago and got a good test run last weekend, 68mm vgt 175/75s towing at least 15k, didn't do too bad but after using a buddys 6.4 (big mistake) a week prior to doing HGs, my truck doesn't quite do what I want it to. Im thinking some of my issues can be fixed with tuning but even then I don't think it will solve it totally. Im after a reliable 600hp that I can do whatever I want with tow, drive, etc and just like everyone else ive gone around compounds mostly as No one around me has them to remove the doubts and fears I have, and the cost, but now I think its time.
I have an II 62/70 install kit minus the turbo, after talking to shawn the plan is going to be a 62/65/70 with a S475 (96/88) will prob take shawns advice and go the 1.10AR housing however that doubles the price of the turbo over the 1.32 so I may try it with the 1.32 and if I hate it change it up. Going to stay with my 175/75 injectors for now and if I can go 190/75 or 190/100 ill bump it up.
my questions are:
LP oil return okay in the pan or is a bed plate a must?
How are you guys relocating all the vacuum stuff on the passenger side cleanly?
where does washer fluid get relocated?
maf wires get extended to passenger side?
Those of you who have built your own kit, would you do it again or cut your losses and go with CED or the likewise pre made kit?
What should I gate the HP turbo at or are these two paired well enough I don't need to gate it?
what overall boost numbers does this setup run?
Is it a reliable tow friendly setup?
