When my 7.3 goes back under the knife it's getting a 6 speed Allison out of a GM and going back to 4.10s. I'd consider 3.73 as well.

Nothing warms the heart better than that GRRRRRRRRRR....... SHIFT... GRRRRRRR that a 4R100 provides. Torque reduction on shifts..... Z E R O......

No confusion, no gender dysphoria.....just SHIFT... SHIFT....SHIFT..... THE END!

They can keep the new shit. A good truck that's worn out is better than a new pos. Worn parts can be replaced.
Truer words never spoken!!!

But really. The 6r is pretty badass.

Dafuq is wrong with you? Lol

Just looking to have more gears in between 1st and od?
Pretty much. Lower rpms on an 80 mph interstate is also part of the thought process.

This thing will be a tow rig. No plans of racing.

5th gear on the Allison is the same as the 5r110s 5th gear. Then you get an extra OD of .614

I get half the mpg with my 6.7 towing than I did with ole whitey.. At any speed or load! I get the same mpg unloaded at 80mph... only thing the 6.7 does is better at 56mph...

I'd put my old dually up against my 15 6.7 to 80mph any day

Have you looked at this system? I like the fact you can adjust a lot of parameters without having to hook a laptop up.

Yep I was actually looking for an old Gen 1 when I saw they had these new ones out.

I need to call them. I know with the Gen 1 I can also control my gear vender. Not sure if the Quick 4 will or if I need the quick 6.

I was under the impression the quick 6 only works on the 6r80?

Having the ability to control the gv with the same controller would be sweet!

Exactly, that is why I need to call them.

I "assume" I need the quick 6 in order to have enough available outputs to run the GV, but there is no pre loaded, or pre programmed shift points for the E4OD on the Quick 6 platform that I can see, so probably have to start everything from scratch instead of modifying their baseline programs.

Post up what you find out. I'd love to know.

I dunno....my 10spd shifts pretty well, lmfao
The shift scheduling on the 10R180 is why my 2020 F450 on Alcoas and Kelderman mechanical self leveling rear with Carli leveled front has been sitting in front of my barn for months now since I pulled a 22 yr old truck out of the woods that can do the elementary task of shifting.

Hook up a trailer, set the cruise and hit a downhill..... get ready for some rpm..... followed by more rpm..... followed by some RPMMMMMMMMMM until it's on the high side of 3700rpm, no load on f'ing cruise control! Remember..... you have steel pistons....

God forbid you ever engage the exhaust brake or tow/haul! Get ready to blow past the rev limiter at 3100 and head right on past 3500 on your way toward 4k.

Want to go through a roundabout? Forget it.... your throttle is connected to the trans.... not the engine! After shifting from 2-4, back to 3 and back to 5 the throttle might turn back on but by then the person to your left has taken off and you stab the brakes..... F IT!

Such an engineering abortion....

Now I have to dump a truck I put time into because of it. That or gut it and put a 7.3 in it!!!

Don't think I didn't strongly consider it! EPA nutswingers would pass out

The steel pistons are lighter than the aluminum ones. Just throwing that out there.

Sounds like a mess to me. I can't imagine they all act like that. Has the 2020 been through a weight loss program?

Wow.

Have you let the dealer update the TCM shift strategy? The early '20 files were pretty bad.
