You can port a stock manifold but it only opens the inlet and outlet. There are runners in the manifold itself which block a lot of air. They are cutting tops off now as erik said and machining the runners out. Once thats done its a free flowing manifold. If it were mine id go 60 hp or 30% nozzles. People have had great luck with these and tow powers.

Thanks, I figured there was more to it than just grinding or more people would do it themself.

Personally id leave the nozzles out of the build and just leave them stock, a manifold does help imo it was why my single spooled so well also it MIGHT help even flow and reduce the chances of a cracked piston.

Exhaust manifold gaskets and bolts, the gasket kit for the hpfp, fuel rail pressure sensor. I'm sure youll run into various small things you might think about picking up from Ford during the process.

Buddies shop didn't work out, he is way too busy for me to even ask to use the lift. I have a lift coming wednesday, gonna put it in the pole barn until I build my shop. Still waiting on some parts, but got the airdog and upgrade in and have a few questions.

If the AD deletes the HFCM then no more water in fuel light?
And does the elite upgrade remove the fuel cooler also? It didn't come with any instructions. I'm thinking it does, is that ok on a dd?
So after AD and elite upgrade all I will have is one 2 micron filter in the AD? I know the 2 micron is better than the stock 10 and 4micron ones but worries me.

Anyone know where to get the instructions on the elite upgrade,I looked on thier site, I'm sure I can figure it out but instructions would be nice.

hopefully this helps. when the airdog is installed, you pretty much need to max out the regulator on the airdog base, then nearly max out the aeromotive regulator. optimum desired Elite spec. PSI is 15 at the aeromotive regulator pressure test port. The airdog might not quite produce it. The truck this pic was taken on only put out 14, but that's fine. The two lines going to the frame rail need to be routed behind the L engine mount similarly routed to the factory solid lines that get removed. You may need to trim the heat shield under the LP turbo for the injection pump line to clear. Feel free to ask any more questions. I'll do my best to help.

So while we are on the subject. Let me make sure I have the flow/plumbing right on this. The large hose that goes into the distribution block and the feed from the airdog. The large line that comes out of the left of the block goes to the HPFP. The Line going from the fuel cooler to the regulator is obviously the fuel return. What is the line under the return from the fuel cooler on the regulator? Fuel return to the tank? I thought that normally comes out of the bottom of regulators? Is there no line coming out of the bottom of this one? Lol sorry for all the questions. Normally pictures and descriptions Ive found for the kit are pretty vague on plumbing and flow direction

supply line from airdog: main line entering top of junction block w/ 90* fitting

return line to tank: line at base of aeromotive regulator w/ 90* fitting attached

Line from fuel cooler: enters side of regulator

double male ORB fitting: connects rear of junction block to side port of regulator

injection pump supply line: connects to pass. side of junction block.

NOT PICTURED: quick connect fittings attach fuel supply and return lines to factory supply & return lines near L engine mount between mount & block.
