Look at the inside of the intake....it's full of soot....any guesses as to where its coming from?
Hint: it's not from the primary sucking in exhaust...

Still have 100+psi with only the one 38mm gate in the up pipes.

The 40mm is in front f the primary, limiting the drive to 45psi.

And no...dumping to the atmosphere is not an option.:pimp:

Why not just run a bigger gate then? Don't most guys that drag race only use one gate? Your truck is a DD and it has more gates than a race truck. Just seems overkill and unnecessary. Sorry...I'm just trying to understand why 3 and not one big one?

3 small gates are going to be more tuneable than one large one. Race trucks don't need to be street able the main concern is regulating back pressure. So a large gate it's fine. With a big gate opening a little and opening a lot is a very fine line.

Lance with JGS has corrected me...these are 40mm gates.

The problem is that the "gate" dumps to the hot pipe to help spool the primary...since that pipe already has pressure inside of it, the gate doesn't flow nearly as much as a gate dumping to the atmosphere.
So by adding another gate to the other bank, it will help equalize the drive pressure on both sides of the engine. (Not good having higher cylinder pressures on only one side)

I haven't seen too many gates on race trucks done correctly, now that I have seen how they are supposed to be positioned. A gate positioned at a 90* bend is pretty much the worst flowing, lowest efficiency position you could ever have...and then to dump it into a pressurized pipe....makes it almost completely useless. (Just look at mine, and what happened to the gate...)

I'm thinking of just running both gates to the atmosphere...
If I can hold 80psi of drive pressure to the secondary, the primary will still have 40 psi of drive. (What I have witnessed is a 2:1 pressure from the secondary drive to the primary.)

Ok, made the decision to sell both flanged 40mm gates and buy 2 JGS 40mm gates with vband connections.

Has anyone ran those be diesel manifolds yet? They are damn cheap...

They are cheap, because they are a cast manifold...not a bunch of tubing, or pipe fittings welded together by some individual. (Which is way more expensive to build.)

I went with them because cast holds heat better than steel, and they have a better flowing design than the stock manifolds.

I cleaned up all the radius edges on all the ports inside the manifold as well. (Took of the sharp edges, and smoothed them into the floor of the intake.)
