Medicine Hat... Again
Hey guys. Now that I've put about 150miles on the truck after doing studs, ported rails and 60hp nozzles. I have a 3-400psi rail surge at idle (when at operating temp) and when I'm goin down the highway it will fluctuate more than 2,000psi. It will fluctuate than hold 21,000psi. No changes in Vgt or egts. I can step on the throttle and have power. Ra pressure will climb to 25,000psi and hold steady. Let off the throttle and rp will drop to 9,000psi. Zero change in drivability. I will add that the idle rp is steady when the truck is cold. 5000-5100psi and 6050psi when I turn on high idle. Hi idle is steady too when turned on when the engine is up to temp.

Is this tuning? Did it both on GH standard street and my revised street tune for the rails and 60hp tips.

Thanks guys.

im guessing ported rails has something to do with it. some people have issues with them that causes surging iirc

Do ported rails require tuning for them?

No they do not. I have Midwest ported rails on my truck and it never surges with Gearhead or H&S canned tunes

Do you have duel fuelers or stock fuel? I did some searching here and noticed a common issue when the stock fuel system is used with ported rails.
