I just suggested that a HEUI with a 200 nozzle could easily be running injection pressures in the sub 9k psi range... A 200 nozzle can tow the drivetrain out from under your truck. If a MEUI setup did 30k at 5k, it is entirely likely that it might still far exceed what we have even down at...- Charles

The only reason we were fighting the IDM before was because the plunger travel was not tied to the crankshaft rotation. With HEUI the injection rate is pitiful, and independent of rpm. What worked fine at 2000 rpm had nothing driving any urgency by 3000 rpm and it just flatlined. If you...- Charles

No, the MEUI system is tied to crank rotation, just like a P-pump, so pw keeps dropping as rpm increases for the same fuel quantity to be injected, and fuel pressure keeps climbing until it is either injected... or something snaps or otherwise explodes. I have talked to Joe at Scheid and Ron at Hypermax and everyone else I could think of.... it should work. I have a couple Mack E7 Unit pumps on my desk and drew up a quick Cad drawing for length and it should be roughly 15 inches. That would put you just in front of a turbo in the stock...- Charles

I think a pump body to hold the unit pumps together exactly like P&B's on an inline P7100. Hell, the Mack EUP's even have staggered two bolt flanges, just like a barrel. If you injected the full quantity that the stock E7 produces 1650ft/lbs with but sized your nozzle flow to keep it from overpressurizing and blowing up at 6k rpm.... and.... you could squeeze the intake air with some stupid high, well cooled boost and actually fill the cylinders with enough...- Charles

Injection pressure is a function of plunger travel speed (cam rpm, cam lobe profile) and plunger diameter, vs nozzle orifice flowable area. Welcome to every mech pump on planet earth. MEUI technology was before CR and some applications exceed 36k psi, stock.... as a reference for how down to party this tech is from the factory. The EUP setup on the Macks injects enough fuel for 1650 ish ft/lbs on the E7... stock.... but keep in mind, that's a stock program. Think about a...- Charles

Just look at the injection system on a 2002 Mack E7. Electronic unit pump that is cam driven for each cylinder with a solenoid I think you will find STRIKINGLY similar to a Heui.... with an injection line running over to a mechanical injector in the normal spot in the head. Most things to make power are simpler than building an injection pump, like buying a truck with something other than a 7.3 in it for instance... But full mechanical 7.3's on the other hand have a very special power output not seen otherwise on that platform, and another kind of simplicity in...- Charles

Cat 3406E is my personal experience but they were in C10's a few others and some of the 31 series although I cannot recall which. They make killer clean power and run like silk. Yes, but..... the 4:30 is actually the correct gear, the trans strategy is just poorly written and cannot keep up with reality unless you go easy on the pedal or put a lot of weight behind it, basically anything to slow down the shift frequency. That is for upshifting.... downshifting at 0%...- Charles

Negative, both of those were already in my phone and both of them are actual transmission issues.... The trans in my 450 has no actual problem (if it hasn't hurt itself) the TCM is commanding it to do exactly what is happening. It hangs the shifts because the TCM has all these delays built...- Charles
