Alright, here were my results. I ran 2 tanks of each type of fuel and came up with the averages. Miles were unloaded/light loaded highway trips.
Untreated Cenex Roadmaster Xl 23.4 mpg
Roadmaster XL with Full Torque 24.1 mpg
Roadmaster XL with Brand X treatment 24.2 mpg
I did notice less smoke...
Powerstorke Specialist does good work. I have not had any work done by them personally, but I have been around their work, and it has always been top notch.
If there is air in the lines and the fluid gets hot, it will lock your brakes up... it is a compounding problem... the hotter they get, the more they lock up, the more they lock up, the hotter they will get.
Yeah, I am starting to lean towards another XJ for the overlanding. a rcsb superduty rig would be cool, but I am afraid that the width and weight would be problematic in the long run.
Thanks for the info. If I decide to pull the trigger, I would definitely go with 05+ axles. From what I've read its not a super hard swap.
My wife and I have decided that we want to do more traveling in the next few years, so I think a RCSB 6.0 would be a pretty cool rig to convert to do some...
I am considering making my shortbed an overlanding rig. It is an 03. Would an 05+ axle fit in the same coil buckets up front? are the radius arm mounts the same? What things would nickle and dime me to do the conversion? Is it worth it?
