I build most my engines with the Ih pistons and have pretty much concluded the ih pistons make a more sluggish take off. I have had other people agree with me too.
As far as drive pressure. I have 69/75 factory style turbos and am at 40 psi boost running 40 psi drive pressure. high rpm might be a different story but most people dont drive at 3500rpm all day.
What doe you guys think I should run for max timing for ih pistons? I,m thinking maybe -13 ? I feel like they just doen have as much power as the stock pistons. Also whats a good pw for 30% nozzle. Is 2400 too much? thanks
I did this on mine a year ago. Its good till about 400 horsepower and back pressure goes sky hi after that causing valves to float. But I guess you just want the mount and pipe setup. Duramaxes use a similar setup as well.
I had my truck tuned by him too. He's great when your there but to get anything changed after that is next to impossible. BTW Joe, he told me Hydra's are junk and are burning up pcms. He's not a big fan them.
If you dont want to spend the coin on an h2e go 38r. A 38r is a drop in and spools like stock if not better. You should be able to get one for 1375.00 shipped.
