I had them on my 95 when i bought it. 35 psi boost, 1600 pyro, and a tranny temp that was there to fill the 3rd hole Didn't have any problems that was the gauge's fault.
Had a 13 CCLB SRW F350 lariat 6.7 on our combine crew and it lightly ticked all the time. Never Once gave it a thought. I figure its a V8 diesel engine no matter the size or make of it every single one i've ever driven/operated/heard had some kind of tick, chatter, knock sound to it. Personally...
Rebuilding the top end of the 6 liter is going to be the cheapest Route and be quick and sound just as good a Dmax Id think, Unless you can get donor parts very cheap or free. Id hate seeing another Gm V8 in a ford IMO.
I almost bought an buddys stock 05 with a ZF6 and a 4'' straight pipe, but i bought a new quad and a Nice cheap IDI instead. Couldnt get enough of that 6 liter bark at 2200 rpm and on. Hell i even took off in 2nd gear with no problems. 6 liter will be my next truck though, 4 out 5 of my diesels...
Plenty of abandoned railroad beds, Waffle Houses, and Walmarts around here. Don't forgot Madriver Mtn, Indian ocean, Delaware reservior. Black Wing Shooting center and Logan county fish n game.
Most likely going to buy my buddys E99 with a ZF6 stock injectors and doing the gutted ebpv housing/pedestal before i throw the motor back in, been reading on this ww2 and sounds like i want to add that to the list. Anything else i should modify the stock E99 turbo? exhaust housing? compessor...
To me an idi is a lot like a efi ford 300L6; not a lot of power to be made unless you get real creative, not a lot of aftermarket for it, cheap, reliable, and inline low end torque, and they usually get decent mileage.
As far as the gayness goes I think trucks can pull off the look of small tire wide wheel Alot better then cars do. I think there are more pressing things that make trucks looks like rice cars like eurotail lights, stupid looking headlights and mall crawlers imo.
400HP South Bend 1944 Con O single disc, only grinds when its grabbing kinda weird. my other sbc (350hp) did it too but only a tiny bit when i had a load on it/and or backing up a hill.
