Can I use an IPR with edge filter in a early 99 HPOP?
I posted this over in the 94-97 section a few weeks ago but didn't get any bites so figured I'd try here. I have a non returnable IPR with edge filter and a early 99 HPOP on my 95. Will using the early IPR in my later pump cause any problems? I don't think it would but figured I better ask the... -

I ordered a Ford ipr with edge filter off eBay and when I pulled the one out of my 95 I saw it didn't have an edge filter in the ipr. I then remember I replaced the pump back in 05 with a new one from international. After much digging I found the receipt, ran the PN and the pump is an early 99...- Mickey427

Yesterday I swapped out the cam sensor with no change. Checked everything over a hundred times. Also put the old filter back on with no change. The bypass valve was still in the filter mount. Took it to my cousins shop and put the computer on it and it miraculously started working just fine. Or... -

Just doesn't make sense to me that it would be a problem till I change oil brands. What other than oil or ICP sensor would cause pressure fluctuations after driving? Ipr? It sat and idled 10 minutes in the yard no problem till I took it down the road. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk -

Pail says lubrication engineers 8800 15-40. What else could it possibly be besides the oil? Only thing that was changed was the filter and the oil. Same Baldwin PN on new filter just different oil manufacturer. Engine ran perfectly fine before oil change. I know it doesn't really seem plausible... -

Oil level is spot on the full Mark on the dipstick. I could possibly rig up a pressure gauge, at work we have a set of high pressure gauges for testing hydraulics. Would just need to buy an adapter or two. Would I just be looking for a big drop in pressure when the engine starts surging? One... -

Also took it for a drive around the block with ICP unplugged, idle was choppy and sounded strange when pushing in clutch from cruising speed, also could feel engine surge when driving so this oil is coming out. Really hope it didn't screw anything up! Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk -

Main cap walking/fretting on stock tune.
Obviously filing the block and trimming the main caps is part of the align hone process, if you tried to hone the mains on a block straight you would be way bigger than the main bore max diameter spec and loose all bearing crush causing an immediate spun bearing.- Mickey427

I don't have a 600hp truck, I have a set of stage 1s injectors which behave just like stock injectors when running stock tuning and a D66 turbo. In all reality I MAYBE have 20-30 more hp than a bone stock pickup. My question isn't how to eliminate cap walk but why is it a problem for me with...- Mickey427

Sorry, that's machinist slang. To a engine machinist a tenth is .0001 they will always say one hundred thousandth for .100- Mickey427

No plasti-gauge. Used a sunnen tenth reading dial bore gauge and had .0035 clearance, give or take a tenth.- Mickey427

I have a 95 7.3 that I had to pull the motor out due to a cracked timing cover. While I had it out I decided to do a little turbo work and build a windage tray for it.
