I'm rebuilding my zf5 s42 after breaking the input shaft and 4th gear countershaft gear teeth. I find it odd that the countershaft gears are a shrink fit with no splines or anything to hold them from spinning. Has anyone ever had a problem with them spinning on the shaft? I'm tempted to weld...

So, while installing my new baby swamps today I figured I'd change my glow plugs. Have one stuck in the head. It's been soaking in pb blaster all day, I've pulled and pryed. I'm going to try again in the morning. Any tips before I pull a head off?

My setup will be for towing. I want something that will spool quickly. I first looked at the d66, but reviews were all over the place on driveability, smoke etc. Not sure I want to spend more than what I'll have in the s366 and install parts. Have to draw the line somewhere in the budget lol
