s366

Getting ready to do e fuel, 180/30's, t500 hpop along with suspension mods, interior mods and new tires and wheels. I'm planning on doing a s366 turbo and building my own up pipes/mount, ic tubes, plenums etc. I see s366's going on ebay for 550-600. From other places for 700-750. Is there a difference?

That's not a bad combo but I'd spent 3-4 hun more and get a 64.5fmw s300-E from borg warner .
It will have way better drivabillity then that 366

Just curious why do people tend to go with the bigger turbos on the 7.3 instead of going with a 66 why not fmw 64.5 or 62? .. The 62 will clean up a 205/75 on a 6.0 and keep egts to 1260ish wot

More displacement helps spool the bigger turbos. Those smaller turbos are great towing setups though.

My setup will be for towing. I want something that will spool quickly. I first looked at the d66, but reviews were all over the place on driveability, smoke etc. Not sure I want to spend more than what I'll have in the s366 and install parts. Have to draw the line somewhere in the budget lol

If you're towing a lot the 364.5 fmw or basb are probably your best bets. They should match nicely with your injector choice.

I towed with a D66 with Baby Hybrids and 175/80s and it was a pig. Swapped in a BASB and it was night/day difference. The boost needle starts to move around 1200-1300 rpm.

But you can get a s367.7 that out flows a s472 but spools like a 66. So the theory of bigger the better is going out the window... I know the 7.3 I a different animal then the 6.0, but alot of 6.0 guys compared the fmw series and loved them mid 600hp. My buddy has 205/75's with a 62fmw wot it peaks at 1250-1275..

Plus they sound badass!! If I had the money for the t4 kit I'd run one.... Curious to see how one would do with a set of 160/0

My 364.5 fmw cleans up my 175/80 fine .
I'm sure if someone was just going to make a bad ass tow rig a 62fmw with a 1.00 housing would be fine with stock or 160/30 injectors. Actually probley be responsive as hell
