That is cool! Looks like you’ve got the rare color changing coolant.;o) Time to flush the brake fluid though.

    Is the fluidamper worth it?

Thanks Garbage Mechanic. I should have been more clear. Looking for the correct belt to use when running stock alternator and tensioner but SD water pump pulley. Would that just be the stock SD belt? Thanks, Shawn

What belt did you end up using? Thanks, Shawn

Yeah, it is a good looking truck. Just strange that it's lived on all three coasts in such a short time. Shawn

Wow, that truck gets around. First WA, then AZ, then the east coast and now TX. Assuming it's the same truck anyway. http://www.azpsg.com/showthread.php?7774-Thinking-of-this-truck&p=143175#post143175 http://www.azpsg.com/showthread.php?8405-1997-F350-Crew-Cab-Build Shawn

    7.3L Thermostat Housing Fix.....

I’ve found that there are really two causes for the chronic leaks at the 7.3 thermostat housing to water pump joint. The first is the weak mounting flange on the stamped steel housing. It’s not strong enough to securely clamp the joint without bending. This bending of the flange causes a leak...

    IH water pump with filter.

I did buy this pump over the counter at my local Navistar dealer. It was definitely weird trying to get the snap ring pliers into the two little holes of the snap ring using only a little inspection mirror. Once it pops out of the groove, a small screw driver can pry it out the rest of the way...

    IH water pump with filter.

I installed a 6.0L fan on mine today and figured I'd replace the o-ring on that valve while I had the access. Got the fan out of the way and found the valve had already been leaking on mine too. Pump is only 11 months and 10,000 miles old. I was able to make the swap without pulling the pump...

Sky Adj. Track Bar Bushing Life Expectancy

Mine too. Maybe they changed the recipe at some point? I put Moog bushings on the front sway bar when I had mine apart and they didn't last long at all. I went with Energy Suspension bushings a couple weeks ago and they seem like a quality product. I may try them on the track bar when the time...

    IH water pump with filter.

Even with the fan and shroud out of the way there still wasn't enough room? You know that pump is going to start leaking now after all that work! Glad you got it fixed. Shawn

    IH water pump with filter.

Viton or Buna-N would be fine in this application. Which ever you can find. Shawn

    IH water pump with filter.

You should be able to change the o-ring without pulling the pump. Will probably want to remove the belt for access. You will need an angled snap ring pliers as well - and an inspection mirror. I'd just get a Buna-N o-ring from a hydraulics shop rather than International. Hardware store may even...

    IH water pump swap

Another solution for a leaking thermostat housing is the kit linked below. Works great! http://shop.strictlydiesel.com/store.php/products/73L_TStat_Ring Shawn

    IH water pump with filter.

I received a PM from Peroni looking for the size of the o-ring on the water pump valve. Figured I'd post it here for all to see. The o-ring below was in pretty rough shape and it broke when I tried to remove it, so I would use the dimensions of the valve itself for determining correct o-ring...

I didn't ask that one, but could probably get it if you really need it. Shawn

Sky Adj. Track Bar Bushing Life Expectancy

I'm sure it contributed to it. I originally purchased the Moog bushing kit intending to see if I could make their sleeves work with the Sky bushings. Once I found the Moog bushings fit in the Sky track bar and they were much stiffer, I just used all Moog. Shawn

Sky Adj. Track Bar Bushing Life Expectancy

I didn't replace any steering components when I did the RSK a year and a half ago, so I just replaced all the tie rods and drag link and added the steering stabilizer. It still had a very very slight hint of death wobble before the stabilizer. I have a 4" drop pitman arm on it and it looks like...
