    Low engine oil level warning

    Anyone know what logic the ECM uses to determine oil level on a 2011 6.7? We have a truck that is showing the message constantly but from what I can find there is no level switch or sensor. Just the engine oil pressure switch is all I can find.

    Duramax VGT on a 6.7 powerstroke. Never would have thought of that one, but I guess the upipes(or whatever they are called on a 6.7) are a pretty close fit.

    There have been a few class 8 trucks with aluminum frames over the years. They don't take well to heavy bodies though (wreckers, dump trucks, etc.).

    hpfp install, in cab

    If you have never done it before, I would suggest splitting it up over two days. It should only take around 8-10 hours but it sucks royally working with the cab on.

    Swamps CR 7.3

    With a good tunable CR platform the 7.3 could make a lot more hp on stock parts since you can make power much higher in the rpm band. I would say that a stock long block with studs could live at 600 reliably as long as you tuned it correctly.

    there is a serious cost factor to think about, you have to purchase a mini or black maxx then pay $199 for a license to tune it (I think that is right). That means for a tuner to make any money on their tunes it would probably cost $2000-$2500 for a setup.

    Auto Enginuity Question

    We use AE everyday on Powerstrokes and Cummins both. I would not have anything else for a Powerstroke and it is pretty good on a cummins as well. Just remember that most things you need are in the actuations tab that is a little hard to find. For 6.0 injectors the power balance test is great.

    The lb7 duramax had the same issue. that is why they dropped the oil pressure with the LLY. I have had some in the shop that sound like they are coming apart and the owners say they always sounded like that and in others it is barely noticeable. It is a diesel after all.

    VGT on 7.3L

    The guys at empire did it back when they were Van Aken brothers racing. not sure how they controlled it, but it can be done.
