Im about due to put a starter on my 03. Any suggestions on good starters besides a motorcraft starter? a friend of mine was telling me about a starter they made for the industrial 7.3L or something like that, that spun a lot faster and worked alot better than the regular motorcraft, anyone heard of such a thing??

they have gear reduction starters, i believe that i got mine at napa. Its a bit shorter, and the main mass kinda hangs off the side as opposed to the longer style

I am not endorsing either one of these, nor do i recomend buying a starter off amazon.. this is just where google images took me..

Go to O'Reilly's and get a starter for a 6 liter. They are gear reduction, they will bolt up and they are lifetime warranty. If it fails, there are O'Reilly's everywhere. I have over 100K miles on my O'Reilly's starter.

Like Andy said, Oreilly's usually has lifetime warranties on their starters. I'd pick one and buy it from them.
