12 or 24 volt?

Two 12 volt batteries, wired in parallel. Only 12 volts output.

Many people think that two 12v batteries is always 24v. They don't understand electricity.

it wouldnt be a bad design to have the starting system be 24v but its too hard to isolate everything to work properly

If they were wired in series it would be 24v but they are wired in parallel.
