I have a single 12 w1 JL sub behind my seat run off a JL amp. The JL amp has been the only one I have ever ran that I can push it hard as hell, and not have it clip out, or get hot. I have actually ran several different JL subs, (all 12's) and don't think you can go wrong with them. The amp and sub came from my crewcab, where it sounded good, but it really rocks my single cab hard. The box is a pro box, and is low profile enough, where it barely peaks up over the top of my center console, and I can still put my seat all the way back.
I'd really like to try a single 13" JL in my mustang gt, in the trunk, with an amp that would do it justice, but the motor build for it takes priority.
