2008 6.4 boost issue

So i tried to look up the issue, but came up short on results. I was driving home from the store today and noticed that i wasn't building any boost?! Drove it slowly back home, popped the hood and came across this waste gate arm coming off near the turbo. I slipped it back on and it erased the problem, my main concern is what will prevent this arm from falling off again? Is there supposed to be some sort of pin that hold is in place? Any help would be much appreciated.

That's your vgt actuator. There should be a nut or a bolt that holds that on.

There is nothing from what i can see. It only slides on, could it have cracked off or something?

Do i need to get something replaced or fixed?? Hopefully this is nothing but a simple fix. If this is the case, anyone got part numbers? I also thought about maybe tack welding it, anyone have opinions on that?

Just checked mine and it looks like it's just pressed on. No pins or nuts holding it.

Interesting... My only concern with this is whats stopping it from falling off again? Maybe im thinking too much about it, does is just slide in and stay put..?

Good question. Could just be a pressed on piece but once it's off I wonder what would keep it on. Was is easy to put back on?

Yes, i just fitted it back into the sleeve . I plan on putting some JB weld for insurance.
