35s and 4.30s

Anybody running this setup? I broke a pinion gear and I'm thinking about regearing. Currently have 3.73s and debating between 4.11s and 4.30s.

I've always been happy with 3.73's in my trucks, INCLUDING my CCLB with a utility body on it...

But my 09 cclb feels like a pig. Feels like it at sea level, and it's worse at altitude. Once it's rolling it's alright, but some 4.10's sound nice right about now.

I suppose I could try a short tire temporarily to see how the truck responds

I ordered my SRW work truck which has stock tires (33s) and 4.30s, but its also a heavy b!tch with its utility body, but it has a 6.2 gas motor. Empty it did good on fuel ~16mpg. Loaded at 9800 it gets about 11, 11.5.

With the 6r140's .67 second overdrive ratio it puts me at ~2050 at 65 mph. And that thing doesnt need to go much faster than that. Im happy with my gear ratio choice.

I don't think you'd be very happy with 4.30's as I'm 3.73 and stock height I run 1800@60, you'd be 2600ish.....I run to max GVCW and 3.73 and am happy with em.

4.10's would be a good choice if you need more towing power/RPM. Too bad 3.90's aren't an option.

Im in a 7.3, so I have less gears than you, but I run 4.30's with 35's and love it. But I don't daily drive my truck and pull heavy **** most of the time. I can still run 75 mph, so It doesn't slow me down any.

I don't know what brand I have. Pyle Brothers in Baytown, Tx installed my stuff.

Yes and 7.3 need to spun higher to make the power for heavy towing so that wouldn't be much of an apple to apple comparison.
