All I can say is 4.10's are the perfect gear for 37" tires. Going from 3.73's to the 4.10's and trutrac is like night and day. Anyone who says going up 1 gear size is not worth it is lieing, hasn't done it , or is just repeating what they "herd".. The truck Accelerates effortlessly again around town and on the hwy, shifts perfect, no more hunting for gears. I can pass on the hwy without putting it to the floor.. I can't believe I waited this long.. And it's not like I have a stock truck I have some power.

Can't wait to break BOTH tires loose for the first time! :flipa:

Any issue with your shift settings now? I have contemplated going to 4:10's as well and I am on 35's.

One of the reasons i did the swap was to fix shift settings.. ive tried a few tunes and tuners ive always had a problem getting the shifting down right. i still need live tuning to get it perfect but its 10 times better then its ever been. its definitely more "on time" now..

but with 35's id stay 3.73 probably. 4.10's with 37's is about the same as 3.73's and 35's. 4.30's and 37's is exactly stock ratio almost. as is 4.10 and 35's.

remember 65 on your speedo is actually 71+ and 70 is 76+ with 35's unless its been set in the cumputer.

Yea I know it, those numbers are from my GPS. What years are my 4.10 gears interchangeable? Surely I could find someone that has 3.73 and wants 4.10 and just swap them out? I know its not just pull out put back in kinda deal, I know a guy that could do it fairly cheap

Man y'all are going to 4.10s and Im trying to find 3.73s lol with 4.10s on stock size tires in my dually it's screams when cruising on the interstate It would be nice not having it turn 2600 rpm when cruising..... Glad you like the way your truck feels tho I'm sure it feels nice to have that power back

It's just nice because 90% of my driving is sprinting around town.. She definitely feels lighter on her toes that's for sure. Again I have 37" tires

Btw do the front gears need to be broke in? Like drive around with 4wd on and hubs unlocked or hubs locked and 4wd off for 500 miles?

I have 37's and 3.73s and Im not commenting on the gearing but speedometer accuracy. I had a cop shoot me at 30 and again at 60. 30mph is 35 on a calibrated python dash mount, @ a speedometer reading of 60 the python was reading 70. So it wasnt 5 mph off across the board but rather an ever ina percentage. I would assume this is typical to every situation. Just a heads up for when you're running 70 as you may be going faster than 76.

I tend to think 4.10s would be great with 37s too.

yes in my truck 60 mph on the speedo is 70mph , 70mph is like 82mph

i said 76mph because bmiller has 35's so it should be aliitle less.

I am sooo tempted to do this myself but plan to go to 35s when I change wheels..

Put some lift, say 4" and 35's, and your rpms will drop drastically. Hell going from stock to a 33 and it'll change. I couldnt believe some 11 years ago, how high rpm my truck turned with the 265/75s on it. It needed a 3.55 like you could get in the obs.
