I'm getting ready to order a Ford Transmission. (Should have done that in the first place.)

Already planning a JW Valve body.

I know the Stock one comes with a ~1900 stall single disc, I don't want that. Haven't gotten an answer what the HD one comes with yet.

I'd really like a triple disc with a low (1300-1400 stall) Torque converter.

Other than Precision Stallion (which is an outrageous $1200+) can anyone recommend a good reasonably priced brand to look at?

Any vendors sell them???

I am also looking. I put in a dayco extra low stall a few years back. It has started to slip a little on the highway when pulling up hill.

After talking to ford, Going with the stock triple-disc converter that comes with the HD tranny. Simply put....warranty. I'll run it for 3 years, and if the tranny is still good, then I'll drop a low stall in it. Hopefully this is the last transmission I have to put in this truck.

Yes, their technology has gotten much better since they started in the diesel field. I will never again purchase an ATS converter. I have , however heard great things about Suncoast converters too

By the way, no matter what the dealer says Ford does not have a Triple-disc. They call their double a triple disc.

Diesel Performance Converters makes a good standard triple disk for reasonable price. Think they've got it listed for 795 on their site and 695 on XDP. But if you call in and ask if he's got any deals going he might hook you up.
