6.0 running hot

My 6.0 is running hot and I can't figure it out. I thought the thermostat was stuck because it would get hot and the heater was blowing hotter than usual. I changed the thermostat and now it still runs hot and the heater blows cold air now. Cooling system flush?

How about posting more info on the truck. How hot is "hot", and under what conditions?

206 deg. When normal is around 180. 2004 Excursion under normal driving conditions. It seems like the EOT is normal.

My wife got it to 248 deg when she ran in 4 low and that's when it seems the problems started. Top radiator hose is hot and bottom hose is cold.

204 is not a problem... I run 214 EOT and 204 ECT on freeway

There are no leaks from the water pump like there usually are when one goes out. I dunno.

Nope and nope. EGR in place. Now I'm thinking the Tstat is working as I put in a 195 deg one. But still no heat from heater.

Try isolating your heater core and flushing it out with a hose. That could tell you if your core is clogged.

Impeller probably came off the water pump or is spinning on the shaft

Sounds like its not flowing at all. How fast does it rise in temp?

Water pump... you have a no flow problem check with what makes the flow happen

10-4. Thanks guys. Water pump impeller is not turning when you turn the shaft. Looks like I found my problem.
