We have not had very good luck with the reworked heads because of inconsistency with fixing cracks and fishers in the heads. Just like the spray welding on the 6.4... It is a great idea but just does not work. we also have not had good luck with reworked ones as the casting in the valve pocket cracks in the seat area as well. By design of these heads with the valve placement and cold air intake coming in and hot exhaust gasses right next to each other it is destine to quench and expand over and over and over and over.. It is bound to happen over the course of time when we are adding more heat which in turn make more power. So we decided to try something different.

My question as well. Is this a revised casting by international that is designed to address the cracking issues or cast by someone somewhere else?

It all depends on who does your head searching for you. It is possible to get "new" casting heads from ford... just not as easy. Also every head by design is going to crack as well. So if you guys want a head that doesn't crack. take put the tuner back to stock. Just not realistic concept here gentlemen.
