Just DO NOT OVER TORQUE! 275 is fine if you have a perfectly calibrated wrench. 250 is much more forgiving. And use a 3/4 torque wrench. Do not max out a 1/2 and use it for 250-275# you will be in the danger area of being past it's accuracy range.

Thanks sledpull, that was going to be my next question... I ordered a snap on 1/2 torque wrench but it said its max tq is 250. Would 250 be enough for final torque? or should I not push it to its limit and source a torque multiplier?

General rule of thumb is to not use the first and last 10% of the torque wrenchs range. If your wrench is good for 250ftlbs I wouldn't use it for anything over 225ftlbs.

Is it a digital one? If so i wouldn't worry about being close to it's max vs a clicker wrench. It uses a load cell not a mechanical spring.
