6.4l electrical problems

Last night I shut my truck off ran just fine but a battery light came on. Went to start it and it was dead jumped it and it ran fine but all the electrical stuff including headlights just flickered on and off anyone ever have the same issue?

Do u have anyway to check the volts? I can do it using my dashdaq

Check the charging system and batteries, with the engine running you should see 14.1 volts across the battery. Also make sure your battery cables are clean.

If I jump it my mini maxx says 6 volts and it eventually just dies after I take the cables off

You better check it with a volt meter, I don't see how it could run on 6 volts.

Lights, flickering mean your running solely off your alternator. Battery's are toast. Alternator may be on its way out as well.

It was the alternator but I dropped a battery when I had them load tested had to replace them anyway
